Australian Catholic University (ACU) is a publicly-funded Catholic university that was opened in 1991 following the amalgamation of four Catholic tertiary institutions in eastern Australia. ACU serves over 34,000 students across multiple campuses Australia and a newly opened campus in Rome. The University has four faculties:
- Faculty of Education and Arts
- Faculty of Health Sciences
- Faculty of Law and Business
- Faculty of Theology and Philosophy
While studying abroad at ACU, students have the opportunity to take classes across the four faculties provided they meet all of the necessary pre-requisites.

Students have the opportunity to participate in community engagement as part of their study abroad experience. Study Abroad plus community engagement enables the active participation in a placement in a not-for profit community organization while also being enrolled in two to three academic units.
